Aliens & the Bible

To be perfectly clear and to the point, the Bible emphatically reveals that there are aliens from other places and that they have visited Earth before. Likely, they will visit us again as the scripture promises that the coming of the Son of Man will be as it was in the days of Noah when aliens had corrupted the world. Alien beings are responsible for the corruption of mankind’s gene pool and are basically the fathers of demons and iniquity. Too bad these lessons were not taught in Sunday school, but the church is still trying to recover from the dumbing down of the Dark Ages and the influence of the Roman Catholic Church.

The first mention of an alien in the Bible is Genesis 3, when the serpent Satan accosted Eve. The next mention of aliens is three chapters later in Genesis 6, when “sons of God” invaded the earth and created havoc, chaos, and mayhem to the end that the flood was sent to wash away their filth. Satan is an alien; he is called an angel in the book of Revelation and a son of God in Job; and the aliens from Genesis 6 who left their first estate and came to earth and impregnated women were also called “sons of God.” Conclusively, God has sons that are not of the same kind as us.

So consider this: angels are aliens. Throughout scripture, angels appear and disappear at will. Technically speaking, since they are not earthly humans, they can be classified as aliens. As a matter of record, a troop of them are scheduled to appear out of the east to rescue the brethren at Armageddon. So, when dealing with the question, “are all aliens evil?” the answer is categorically “no.” However, there are angels that are referred to as “fallen”—that left their first estate and came into our world, bringing sin, iniquity, and demons; and they corrupted the beautiful creatures God created us to be.

If we believe the Bible, then we believe in aliens. Ignorance of what the Bible says about aliens could very well be an opening for the coming deception that will come upon the whole world. As Bible believers, we must adapt our thinking to believe in aliens because the Bible is the standard of what we believe and it does indeed mention aliens. Ignorance of this biblical truth is the reason for this blog post.

When I say alien, I mean “something” or “some being” that is not from planet Earth. The Bible is littered with usages of these kinds of beings. Certainly, no one would disagree that angels, even good angels, are not from this place. And even if you do not accept the Bible as the Word of God, it is historically clear that the Bible is the most accurate of all the ancient books because Jewish scholars were so meticulously about guarding its preservation. The ancient texts of many other societies, including the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Babylonians, and Sumerians, are considered mythical because they continually extended and embellished their stories to further glorify their heroes. (An example of this is the Homeric hymns.) In fact, the heroes that the Greeks and Romans deified were actually aliens or their offspring. So, this is not just a Bible subject, although the most trustworthy source in the world on the subject of aliens, as well as all history, is the Bible. Even the other ancient writings concur there are beings that exist that are not from Earth and not human as well.

So, the Bible, which is the most reliable of all ancient writings, says that there are aliens; and other ancient writings also mention them. There truly are aliens that have visited the earth before and will likely revisit us in the near future.

Sons of God

Are you ready for an eye opener? A word search in the King James Version of the Bible for the phrase “sons of God,” reveals references to aliens as well as to individuals who are born again of the Holy Spirit. It is used 11 times: 6X in the Old Testament and 5X in the New Testament. All the usages in the Old Testament are references to alien angels. This shows us that God has kids that are different than us, although they do share some of our traits. For example, we are spirits created by God and, as such, we have free will. Old Testament usages of aliens show that some of them sinned and were subsequently chained in the pit (hell).

The New Testament usages are all references to those who are born again of the Holy Spirit. When someone gets born again, they receive the seed of God, their eternal essence of the spirit of man is changed, and their earthly citizenship is changed to a heavenly citizenship—they become a citizen of the Kingdom of God. The transformation that occurs in the spirit of man at the time of the new birth puts them on the same level spiritually as the Watcher angels, who likewise are called sons of God. We are not alone, and we most certainly are not underlings because, unlike alien sons of God, we were made in Yahweh’s likeness and image. Apparently, our species is envied and highly desired by other species of sons of God. In our finest fashion, before corruption from evil alien angels, our species displayed the glory of God perhaps unlike any other.

The distinction of being highly favored and even envied of others is deduced from studying the biblical and apocryphal accounts of alien sons of God. Mankind is, at least, one of the kinds of beings that are made in the likeness and image of God. Textual evidence shows that aliens, or sons of God, from even the highest of heaven who were in the presence of Almighty God Yahweh were obsessed with our race—especially the women.

Since humans were made in the likeness and image of God, we apparently manifested His glory, beauty, and splendor in a magnificent and unique way. If we could behold what Adam and Eve looked like before they fell, we would get an even greater picture. This deduction also comes from observing that certain alien sons of God not only lusted after human women but for dominion over all humans.

There is cause to consider that the usage of “sons” of God means that they are all masculine. Most all of the angel names in the ancient manuscripts are masculine, so when they saw the human women, it drove them out of their minds (Genesis 6:1ff). Let’s face it, women are beautiful, so it is easy to see why they would be desired by angels and other spirit beings (1 Corinthians 11:10 says that angels still desire them). Not only are human women beautiful, but they can also reproduce; and the combination of these two qualities tempted the alien angels to come to Earth and procreate mixed spirit beings with them. In fact, this temptation compelled a whole troop of angels to leave the presence of God. Even the interaction between Satan and Eve in Genesis 3 is described as “seduction” in 2 Corinthians 11:3, which leads some to believe that the original sin was that Satan impregnated Eve with Cain. The records in Enoch and Jubilees detail extreme perversions, which contribute to the basic Bible facts of this departure from their first estate. Not only were they driven by their lustful desire for the women, but they were also driven by their desire to reproduce themselves as gods. The point is that “Adam,” or the race of his offspring, is made in the likeness and image of God; and the woman, taken out of him, was very desirable, enough to drive an angel out of his mind.

The Old Testament usages of sons of God are very revealing. Genesis 6:4ff shows that aliens are not from planet Earth but decided to come here and stay. They contrived devious lies so that humans would worship them, made human women their wives, and putrefied the human gene pool, resulting in mutated offspring that eventually ended up eating humans. God ended up saving mankind by flooding the earth to rid it of their bodies. He then put their disobedient spirits in a pit where they have been in chains, and will be, until the Day of Judgment. They did not leave a very good reputation, did they?

There are two usages of sons of God in Job that give more data. Job 2:1 indicates that certain spirit beings can manifest in the presence of God and that Satan is one of these. This shows also that Satan is a son of God, as well as an alien angel. Likewise this would include Gabriel, the angel of the presence mentioned in Luke 1:19, because he comes in and out of the presence of God. So, just to keep terminology straight, this means that archangels are aliens too. The usage in Job 38:4–7 mentions that morning stars (angels) and sons of God sang and shouted praise when God created the earth. This far, far before mankind was created and placed on planet Earth.

Why Is This Such a Mystery?

One of the reasons that there is even any question on this issue of aliens in the Bible is because of the Roman Catholic choice of books in the canon of scripture. They excluded the books of Enoch and Jubilees, which incidentally both the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and Beta Israel (Ethiopian Jews) include within their canon of the scriptures. If the books of 1 Enoch and Jubilees, which were found in the Dead Sea Scrolls, had been included, or at least considered as valid, these truths about aliens would be broadly known and perhaps this blog post would not be necessary. But, since these books were excluded (for whatever reason the Roman Catholics can justify), we are left with gross ignorance and gaping holes in our doctrinal understanding, making ours a “holey” theology.

When these particular books were found in the Dead Sea Scrolls, a congress should have been convened to reexamine the canon of scripture we hold so sacred. These books were hidden before the Roman Catholics took control of the so-called Christian world and perverted it with their syncretistic views that married Babylon Mystery religion and Christianity. They were exhumed during the blood moon tetrads of 1947 and 1948, bringing light back to Israel and revealing the truth about these extraterrestrial beings before the Roman Catholics decided to pull out what they didn’t want to be seen by the common man. Truly, the recovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls was the greatest literary discovery of our times.

These ancient books also teach that demons resulted from this crossbreeding of aliens and humans, as well as with animals. (See my article on “Principalities, Powers, and Demons” at http://www.lmci.org/articles.cfm?Article=76.) The historian Josephus wrote around ad 70 that it was common knowledge that aliens had interbred with women. So why these books were excluded is definitely a point of discussion. When these books were discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls they revealed knowledge that agrees with the Bible; yet that knowledge is rarely known and/or accepted in most Christian circles. Maybe there is still some darkness left over from the Dark Ages.

In a synthesis note, we have learned conclusively that the Bible speaks authoritatively on this subject of aliens—that there are sons of God of a different kind that are from other places. There appears to be good ones and evil ones, just as we have always had good and bad sons of God on Earth. We have also learned that in previous encounters, these sons of God made merchandise of humans, which brought mayhem and destruction. On the other hand, sons of God shouted for joy when Earth was made.

Preparation for the Coming Deception

There are other scriptures that deal with the punishment of these disobedient, alien sons of God. Most of these are misunderstood, or not understood, because of the lack of teaching from Genesis 6:4. Another reason they are misunderstood is because the accepted canon of the scriptures does not reveal the truth that God put these disobedient angels and ninety percent of the demons in a pit and sealed it. If the accompanying records in Enoch and Jubilees (and other apocryphal books) were known, then these verses would be clear. Ignorance of these scriptures is what causes our “holey” theology (meaning it’s full of holes).

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment. ~2 Peter 2:4

These angels referred to in 2 Peter are the sons of God in Genesis 6:4ff, Enoch 6ff, and Jubilees 10, etc. They are chained as punishment for their disobedience when they came to earth and created mayhem and mutant beings which terrified mankind and promoted themselves into gods of this world. The name of the place where they are chained is the Greek word for “hell” (tautaroo), the equivalent to Tartarus, the underworld in Greek mythology. This is mentioned and referenced in Enoch and Jubilees. It is a real place where these disobedient alien sons of God are presently chained.

The Bible is clear that there is a pit containing disobedient, alien sons of God. My concern is that when these chained, alien beings are released from the pit in the end times, as promised in Revelation 9:1–11, great deception will be released as well. (Second Peter 2:4 and Jubilees 10 are additional scriptures that reference the pit.) The opening of this pit and the beings coming out of it could quite plausibly be part of the deception and delusion coming upon the world (2 Thessalonians 2:6–12). At least one of these aliens, named Apollo, will plausibly claim to be the savior. He is called the king of the pit and is a fallen angel who will again claim god status, especially if he is the same character as mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:8. First Enoch 6:6 says that there are 200 evil, alien angels in the pit, not to mention the hordes and hordes of demonic spirits there as well.

As a matter of consideration, the raising of Apollo out of the grave is the counterfeit resurrection that the mystics around the world are focused upon. Most ancient cultures have this belief and it is often marked by the presence of obelisks. The obelisks are phallic symbols that represent the last part of Nimrod/Apollo/Gilgamesh/Horus to be reunited with him. This is the legend behind the Book of the Dead from Egypt. The elite of the Free Masons share this belief and had the largest obelisk in the world built as the centerpiece of the capital of the USA, the Washington monument. Many obelisks were made in Heliopolis, Egypt and were strategically placed across the earth as a network of esoteric structures recognizing the raising of Apollo out of the grave.

All of these conclusively prove that the elite esoteric know of aliens and their past and future history with mankind, while the typical Christian community sits in their church pews and sings, “Give me that ole’ time religion, which is good enough for me.” Problem is, Christianity’s ole’ time religion does not have a category in its doctrine for aliens, even though the book of Revelation clearly states that God will open the pit and allow the inhabitants to come out for a while until they are bound for 1,000 more years before being thrown into the lake of fire. I believe the deception is intentional that has covertly hidden the belief and knowledge of aliens.

CERN Concerns

It is interesting that the conglomerate of European nations in a nuclear experiment has built a particle collider, called CERN, located close to Geneva, Switzerland. As a matter of fact, it has intentionally been constructed on top of an ancient temple of Apollo. (See http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread505461/pg1.) The purpose of the experiment is to produce a particle that can travel faster than the speed of light, but in the process, it has the potential to open up “worm holes” to other dimensions.

This information is directly related to the pit we have been discussing. The pit will be properly opened by a (good) angel at the fifth trumpet judgment. Yet, there are some sons of Belial trying to open this door now. If they would call me, I could tell them what will come out of this pit when they try to blast open the doors. (Remember that God opens a door that no man can shut and shuts a door that no man can open.)

It appears that sons of Belial and children of mayhem are hell-bent on blowing open the door of this pit that the Bible says God Almighty shut. This particle collider has already been turned on (although not at full power, yet) and weird beings of mutant fashion were seen through the vortex that was opened. Just saying—we are being set up for an invasion of alien beings, either coming out of the pit where some have been imprisoned or beings whose origin is somewhere in outer space.

Claiming to Be a God

Alien angels, or sons of God, have claimed god status in previous visits, and it is possible that this will be the case again. Second Thessalonians 2:3–4 says that the man of sin, the son of perdition, will claim to be a god—perhaps even the God. It is clear that of course this is blasphemy, and he will pay for it when Jesus Christ destroys him with the brightness of His coming. However, this charismatic creature will have some power which cannot be denied since 2 Thessalonians 2:9 refers to his lying signs and energized power from Satan.

At this point, I need to mention that the claim to be a god needs some special explanation. Perhaps any son of God, either alien or born again of God’s spirit, can claim god status. Psalm 82 has a discourse that includes other gods. It is said that our Father Yahweh judges in the congregation of the gods, and of course He is The God of all gods. Psalm 82:6 is what Jesus was referring to in John 10:34, when He eluded to the fact that if you are a child of God, then you are a god in authority. Many people cringe over this statement and it did not please the Jews of Jesus’ time either. Yet, it does not change the truth. This is a salient point: do not be intimidated by another spirit being who claims to be god. The word “god” is a title, not a name. First Corinthians 8:5 makes it plain that there are many gods, but only one God, Yahweh. The word “god” also means “mighty leader with authority.” So if an alien claims to be god, no problem, he does not outrank you if you have the Holy Spirit. Just smile and know that if he claims to be one, so can you, because you have the same status as an angel as far as being a son of God. Plus, you have authority in this place (Psalm 8:4–8).

My point in bringing this up is that if aliens claim god status, then as a matter of definition, you can claim it too. Many people and theologians of years past have theorized that the man of sin would be the Papal office and the last one would be the antichrist. There is great reason to consider that it will be Apollo, the fallen angel who has been in the pit for about 5,000 years. Yet, there is a hidden candidate coming out of the pit and maybe others from outer space before it is over. It appears we may have a selection to choose from. Remember it is the coming deception and the point is to not be swayed from your faith.

Lying Signs

The following scriptures are crucial to grasp because they speak of lying signs that could deceive the very elect. It appears that not only is God Yahweh going to punish the world with His wrath at the very end; He is also going to allow a deception to come on His own people to try their faith as well.

And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. ~2 Thessalonians 2:6–12

Matthew 24:21–24 says the same thing—that beings will claim to be Christ and be able to do lying signs—and this will happen during the tribulation. At that time (during the tribulation), the pit will be opened and alien sons of God will come out to deceive the world as well as the believers. These plausibly could be the alien, angel sons of God coming out of the pit.

For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened. Then if anyone says to you, “Look, here is the Christ!” or “There!” do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect. ~Matthew 24:21–24

To be forewarned is to be forearmed. I personally am holding on to a great concern about the deception and delusion that will come during the end times. A wicked person, many call the antichrist, will arise and claim to be God during these times. He will produce lying signs and wonders, and I believe this could be an alien presence sent to test the faith of the elect. Apparently this figure will have some power and will draw many to him. Notice that the Lord Jesus Christ will destroy him with the brightness of His coming, but not before he deceives many. My belief is that these will be aliens coming out of the pit, or even possibly others like them, coming to deceive the elect. There is reason to believe that there will be more than one of these beings. The leader will be Apollo.

The Bible names one of these figures. His name is Apollo in Greek and Latin; Abaddon in Hebrew; Horus in Egyptian mythology, and Gilgamesh in Sumerian literature. As the Bible is true, people at some time are going to have to deal with this issue. It is quite plausible that it is us—at this time, in the end times. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Apollo

Isn’t it amazing that the name of this iconic figure is spelled out in clear letters in the Bible. His name is Apollo and he will be released out of the pit where he and other mutated and cursed spirits have been chained since the time of Noah.

And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon [Apollo]. ~Revelation 9:10–11

According to myth, Apollo was the son of Zeus, the head of all gods. As the story goes, Zeus impregnated Leto, a Titan super woman who gave birth to Apollo and his twin sister Artemis. Apollo has become synonymous with the title of chief of all the gods on the earth. He is an alien, or at least the offspring of them, and became known as the Sun god in many cultures under various names. It is quite apparent from the Bible and from mythology that this personality exists. It appears that Apollo will come to the earth at the sounding of the fifth trumpet. This will be a fitting time for a conquering hero to show up and save the world after one-third of it has been decimated by asteroids and earthquakes.

More and more Bible students are considering that the coming of this one out of the pit in Revelation 9 might be congruous with the Twelfth Imam of Islam. There are several beasts in Revelation; Islam is certainly one of them and the dragon will give his power to it. Anyway, the Imam is rumored to come out of a well, and it may be that this is actually Apollo coming out of the pit. However, once again, if you do not know about the pit where these beasts and alien sons of God have been chained, you have no room to explain them—in New Testament times or especially, end times.

Quite possibly there will be alien sons of God that will come out of the pit and perform lying signs and wonders. Or they might come from above, but we know that lying signs will surely come. This is all a test to see if your faith will endure.

Crop Circles

I am not an expert on crop circles, yet I have the privilege of being educated by some who are. Most everyone has heard about crop circles, but for the uniformed, these are impressions made in the middle of fields of crops that display images and especially celestial alignments that are telling of coming issues in our world. I have seen video footage of the orb that makes these, and it does it in a twinkling of an eye with unbelievable precision and speed. These appear to be created by an alien presence—at least with technology unknown to the common person—and communicating information that would be unknown to people of Earth. The best explanations for them are that they are coming from outer space or at best represent a technology unknown to the major populous. If they are manmade, they most certainly are lying signs because of the deception and secrecy; and yet if they are alien created, I believe they will be lying signs too.

These messages from the crop circles concur that a catastrophe will come to the earth. Some tell of a three day eclipse, which incidentally is quite possible with the coming of Planet X (Nibiru). Other circles tell of issues of calamity in September of 2015. It is quite possible that the planetoid system of Planet X might be inhabited. If so, they might be beaming us messages. Okay, no problem. There is room enough in your Bible theology to accept that God has other beings that He created. Maybe some of them are good, but our suspicion is justified. As these events could happen, they may lead believers and unbelievers away from Messiah. Just remember this: Almighty God Yahweh is the God of all gods and He is the still the Creator and the Enforcer of His laws.

These crop circles are without a doubt a sign. They might even be accurate in the message; the things that they say might happen, may actually happen. Even so, they can still be in the category of lying signs. A sign can speak the truth but still be a false or lying sign if it leads people into deception. In other words, a lying sign might tell the truth but is still a lie because it leads someone astray. For example, you see a road sign that says, “Paradise 10 miles ahead,” and then when your travel the 10 miles you come to a ghost town named Paradise. So, the sign told the truth but it still was a lie. It is quite possible that the crop circles will introduce a false messiah with lying signs and wonders. Will he be an alien? There is a good chance if he is to bring down fire and signs from above (Revelation 13:13).

In summary, as we are assuming to believe that we are living in the end times, we need to accept the reality that many things will happen during these times that we do not understand. We do know that lying signs will try to deceive the elect. I believe that these lying signs may be done by alien sons of God. Some will come out of the pit and others may come from outer space or other dimensions. The Bible absolutely does teach about aliens and extra-terrestrials. Perhaps this knowledge was filtered out of our Bible intentionally, but certainly we know that this is not generally considered, discussed, or debated in mainstream Christian thought; yet, the main point is to not be shaken or moved by any of these items that would counterfeit Messiah.

Do not be deceived by lying signs and manifestations of aliens and foreign beings. Our belief system is large enough to consider that God is not limited to our understanding and that His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. There may be alien sons of God, but remember that you are a born again child of God with more rights and privileges than they have in this place. As God our Father created us and even other aliens, He is still the Creator and the power of the universe. Our times are in His hands and He is the enforcer of His power.

Jesus will destroy the lie and the liar with the brightness of His coming. Be prepared with the knowledge of the Bible and be prepared to separate truth from error.

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.

Planet X Disclosed

Recently, I have become privy to some information that is very sensitive and demands spiritual maturity to process. The information is about Planet X, also known as Nibiru, which I had been aware of for some time and had been tracking online reports of for several years. I did this with a level of caution, however, since I had no confirmation of its validity. While in Colorado the last week of June, I met a wonderful believer who not only showed me reports of magnetic field fluctuations related to this mystery planet’s movements but had actually taken some photos of it himself through infrared lenses with different light filters. Then, as if that was not enough, on June 25, Google Sky’s internet telescope removed their black-out cover off of Planet X, revealing its supposed whereabouts. I say “supposed” whereabouts because now NASA’s Sky View program has obscured a portion of their sky in a different location, which makes Google Sky’s location suspect. In addition, it has been reported that Google Sky’s unmasked image appears to be the same as one made in the 1950s (obviously not from an internet telescope) and then enhanced. Google Sky’s decision to replace their previously blocked image with a falsified one and Sky View’s decision to block an alternate location should cause us to wonder. Why is there an attempt to either falsify it or to block it out?

The following links can fill you in on some of these details: for Google Sky, see “Red Dragon of Revelation” at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9L9Yyi9VpS4 and for NASA Sky View, see “Planet X/NASA files/they know it is coming!” at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bU4rAfuVhvc. Also, see “Nibiru, Planet X just Revealed” at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCz6BdLr4K4 for a brief overview of Google Sky’s “disclosure,” which is now believed to be falsified.

Through years of studying Planet X astronomically, biblically, and historically, one of the things I discovered was a planet mentioned in the Bible called Rahab, as well as an ancient historic report of its demise through an explosion. I knew there could be a possibility of it still existing elsewhere in our galaxy perhaps in a slightly different form because of the explosion. Scientists, geophysicists, and astronomers have viewed a celestial body that they believe could be that planet from areas of the southern hemisphere, and now it is apparently becoming visible in the northern hemisphere.

Some astronomers have predicted that the trajectory of said Planet X could have a devastating effect on Earth and its inhabitants. The descriptions of its possible effects are eerily similar to those described in the book of Revelation concerning the asteroid Wormwood and the accompanying signs that will happen during the trumpet judgments of chapters 8 and 9. As believers, we should be ahead of the curve on a potentially earth-shaking event that may not be far away time-wise. It seems quite plausible that this could have biblical prophecy potential. See www.planet7x.com for Gill Broussard’s biblical perspective. His research is absolutely fascinating.

Granted, these astronomers could be off in their calculations, and Planet X could prove to be either a fly-by or even a no-show. However, if we are indeed living in the end days (which seems to be supported by many other events and signs), then we should have the wisdom to understand that sooner or later, these things will eventually come to pass.  This is one reason I thought it right to at least make you aware of what has been brought to my attention. I sort of think it is my job to be a watchman.

The good news is that no matter what happens, our God is faithful to deliver us!

Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment. 2 Peter 2:9

I sought counsel from my closest associates, as well as the LMCI staff, on the best way to handle what I knew of this situation. On Wednesday, July 15, I joined the staff in a day set apart specifically for prayer and fasting to seek the Lord’s wisdom in what to do with this information on Planet X. As we discussed and weighed the evidence, we came to the consensus that it would be both loving and prudent to reveal to you what we know about the possible consequences of this celestial anomaly potentially coming close to Earth. This at least gives you the opportunity to consider and draw your own conclusions. A large part of our decision to tell you what we know is based on our love for you, which is bigger than our concern for our own reputation. We would rather look like fools than to withhold something that could help you to be prepared both spiritually and physically for a potentially dark time in history. As Sherlock Holmes would say, “The evidence does not lie, and the conclusions should be obvious.” So please bear with us as we endeavor not to be alarmists but good watchmen.

There are also stories of a cover up that include mysterious deaths of scientists who had knowledge of Planet X’s whereabouts over the past two and a half decades, as well as worldwide elaborate underground bunkers being built within the same time period. There are reports of astrophysicists, astronomers, and geophysicists living at the South Pole apparently to conduct observations on something in space during this same time period. Although photos have emerged from the southern hemisphere of this mysterious planet, the visibility of it within our own hemisphere will surely engender much more alarm. What kind of cover-ups will work then?

Number One Concern—Predicted Trajectory

My number one concern about Planet X is its predicted trajectory. If it holds true to its prediction, we could find ourselves in a situation similar to the trumpet judgments of Revelation 8 and 9 and/or the “shaking” that is prophesied in numerous biblical prophecies, such as those in the books of Enoch, Isaiah, Joel, Ezekiel, and Daniel. Jesus, Paul, and John also spoke of a time of shaking that would come to the earth, as well as the heavens. If we are living in the end times, which many believe we are, then it is God who is bringing these things to pass—or at the very least, allowing them to happen. We know that He will purge the world to prepare for Messiah’s coming Kingdom of Heaven and that this purging will be violent and deadly. We also know that Satan will take advantage of the situation to loose the great deception that is designed to test our faith. Jesus said that even the very elect could be deceived (Matthew 24:24), and this great deception is also prophesied in 2 Thessalonians 2:8–11. Just remember, if he can’t split mountains and doesn’t have pierced hands and feet, he ain’t the real deal!

During our LMCI staff prayer and fasting time, I shared with those present that we cannot prevent the fulfillment of the biblical prophecy of the asteroid or Wormwood as described in Revelation 8:10–11, but we can surely do something about people being tricked out of their belief in Jesus. In the end times, Jesus will open the seals and tell the angels to blow the trumpets to release judgments on the whole world and then to pour out bowls of wrath. He will loose all the enemies that His intercession has held back throughout history, and this includes Satan who will have his last attempt to deceive mankind. All of these things are the will of God who is loosing His wrath on the world.  It is during the first three trumpet judgments that one-third of the world will be decimated, including its resources and its inhabitants. If this time does come to pass while we are here, it should eventually become obvious because we will see signs in the heavens unlike anything we have ever even comprehended.

Number Two Concern—the Cover Up

Those who believe that governments around the world have been involved in a cover up of Planet X have produced reports of massive projects to build extravagant underground tunnels and living quarters for the elite. These include state-of-the-art transit and supply systems, such as highways wide enough for semi-trucks and greenhouses to produce fresh vegetables. These havens of refuge designed for any kind of catastrophe have been underway for decades for the elite who can afford such luxuries. Find out more about underground bunkers such as these by doing a Google search for “Doomsday Lairs Underground Bunkers Cities” on the internet.

The powers that be obviously believe that something catastrophic is probably going to occur, but they certainly have not shared their concerns with the general populace. Is it because they are afraid of the mad rush for supplies, such as food and ammunition—possibly leaving them depleted for their own selfish survival? As someone who has researched and studied sons of Belial, I know how these people think and work. Proverbs 6:12ff says they wink with their eyes, shuffle their feet, and secretly do business to gain advantage of others. Selfish ambition is their M.O. (modus operandi), but it is not ours as Christ followers; ours is the love of God that wants to warn others of the possibility of a coming storm so that they too can be prepared. Sons of Belial don’t want us to know so they can steal, kill, and destroy us. We want others to know so they also can be those lights in a dark place, because when/if this information becomes public, fear will engulf the world. Jesus spoke of this kind of widespread fear in Luke 21:25–28.

And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. ~Luke 21:25–28

When people are afraid, they are often more open to listen to the message of hope that is in Jesus Christ. Rather than covering up and hiding, we should make ourselves available as the lights of the world to not only share what we have physically, but also spiritually. The greatest thing we can offer those around us whose hearts are failing them from fear is the hope of eternal life that comes only through Jesus Christ.

Jesus’ desire and prayer to the Father in John 17:15 was not that the Father would take us out of the world but that He would keep us from the evil one. He wants us to be here to gather in the harvest. He will destroy their idols just like He did in Egypt, and many will be reaching out for hope once they no longer have the comfort of their gods. Even if this is not the asteroid (aka Wormwood) of Revelation 8, it could still be a time of darkness in which the glory of the Lord will shine upon His people, as is described in Isaiah 60.

One of the most vital points we covered at our prayer and fasting time was, “How do we best help you?”  The answer was simple: We want to help you prepare for whatever you need, both now and later. That starts with informing and warning you, which is the purpose of this blog post. The goal and desire of all of us here at LMCI is to lead others with love, even if it means saying hard things. This post could be considered an addendum to our recent release of my CD teaching entitled, “Warned of God.” If we really are living in the end times, the preparation of spirit, soul, and body is of utmost importance. To be forewarned is to be forearmed and prepared. We desire to be a resource for you to know how to take those first steps of preparation for what could happen in the future.

The information in this blog post should only encourage all of us to seek holiness and a greater intimacy with Jesus. Holy fear should drive us to our knees and that is the most powerful position we can put ourselves in.

Triple Conjunctions of Venus and Jupiter - July 1, August 4, and October 25, 2015

On the night of June 30/July 1, people in many locations around the globe were treated to a unique sight when Venus and Jupiter aligned to within 1/3 of a degree. One of the reasons this particular conjunction got a lot of attention was because of its similarity to what the wise men saw in their night sky one month before Jesus of Nazareth was born. It is also intriguing since it was the first of a very rare triple conjunction of Venus and Jupiter that is taking place over the course of only four months. This celestial occurrence is exciting in and of itself, but the interpretation of its message could quite literally be "earth shaking." If conjunctions of Venus and Jupiter announced the first coming of Messiah, it is within the realm of reason that they could announce His second coming too. Many signs are beaming brightly in the heavens these days, and the triple conjunction of these two planets may be another one that is pointing to the approach of the Day of the Lord.

Online chatter concerning the blood moons and solar eclipses on the Jewish festival days has motivated many to look up in the heavens for signs and seasons and days and years. Now that God has our attention, more of His people are taking note of these ongoing signs, such as these conjunctions occurring in such close proximity. This is good, because we all should desire to be ready for Messiah's return and the Day of the Lord.

We know from Psalm 19 that the heavens declare God's glory; and from studying the star and planet names from ancient times, we learn they are all about Messiah. Christologically speaking, Venus has always been and always will be about the brilliance and splendor of Messiah. Its Hebrew name, Nogah, means "brilliance" and "splendor;" and it is commonly known as "the bright and morning star." Jupiter's Hebrew name is Tsedeq, which means "king of righteousness."

NOTE: The original ancient names of the major stars and planets depict Messianic characteristics; therefore, it is an insult to the true living Messiah, Yeshua ha Maschiah, to call them by their pagan names. Alas, we live in a fallen and perverted world that even calls the days of the week and the months of the year after false gods. Forgive us, oh Lord.

By definition, a conjunction occurs when two celestial spheres share the same right ascension in the northern direction to the center of the heavens. Many commonly refer to conjunctions as planets (or a planet with a star) appearing to come close together, but technically it is when their right-ascension coordinates are aligned toward the North Star (the pole star).

In a synopsis, the divine message that these planetary alignments are announcing is of coming judgment, which may also include the Lord's coming and the day of vengeance of our God. All three of these Jupiter/Venus conjunctions are occurring in the constellation of Leo, which represents the Lion of the tribe of Judah; and this means we should pay close attention.

Only the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Jesus) will be able to open the seals mentioned in Revelation 5:1-5. When Yeshua looses the seals, all the things that He has been holding back from mankind for thousands of years will be released. He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way (2 Thessalonians 2:7). Even though this judgment is ultimately against Satan, many innocent bystanders will be hurt and/or killed, as well as some not-so-innocent bystanders.

Conjunctions between Venus, the brightest planet, and Jupiter the second brightest one, are spectacular-especially when they are as closely aligned as the one was on July 1. A single conjunction of these two planets is not uncommon, since they typically conjunct every 13 months; however, for them to conjunct three times within a period of less than four months is extremely rare. All three conjunctions occurring in the constellation of Leo should speak loudly to us. As soon as Venus and Jupiter aligned on July 1, Venus immediately entered a retrograde motion, which means it appeared to move backwards. (A retrograde motion is an optical illusion occurring when a faster moving object overtakes a slower moving one and the slower one appears to move in reverse for a duration.) Reading retrogrades is one of the secrets the magi used millennia ago to trace the birthplace of Jesus of Nazareth. If we traced the apparent movement of a planet in retrograde, it would seem as if we were drawing a circle or ellipse in the sky. By following the progress of Venus in these three depictions of the triple conjunctions, we can detect the circle it is drawing. (All graphics are from the Stellarium astronomy computer program.)

August 4, 2015

October 25, 2015

Jupiter conjuncts also with Regulus (the "king" star located in Leo) on August 11 before Venus catches it again in October. As if that wasn't enough, Venus then conjuncts with Mars on November 2, 2015 right at the dividing line between Leo and Virgo (which is the ending and beginning line of the Mazzaroth).

That is a tremendous amount of activity going on in the heavens, and I did not even mention the conjunction of Mars and Jupiter on October 17. Even without these other conjunctions happening, the Venus/Jupiter triple conjunction occurring within a four-month period of time, all within Leo, carries a massive message.

It is important to note, as it is in all celestial interpretations, where the event is taking place, meaning the constellation in which it is happening. All of these conjunctions are occurring in Leo, which represents the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Since the lion is the king of beasts and Leo is the last constellation in the celestial story line of Messiah, this constellation more than any other tells of the coming of the King. The message of Leo shows Messiah coming in glory and judgment, with its amplifiers (decans)-Hydra, Crater and Corvus-foretelling of doom and vengeance on God's enemies. Hydra the sea serpent (who represents Satan) is shown with Leo pouncing upon its head and poised to rend its flesh into pieces. Crater is represented as the cup of wrath being poured on God's enemies, and Corvus is a vulture eating the flesh of Hydra, typifying complete vengeance and vindication upon the enemy.

This article might look like an exercise in astronomy but it contains a sobering message being declared by the heavens. Given the surrounding signs in the heavens of the eclipses and the Jupiter/Venus conjunctions, it seems plausible that the heavens are prophesying to us. If you are not on the right side, the message might not be good news; however, if you are on the right side, it will be good news. Either way, it should invoke the fear of God in all of us.

Remember that on Messiah's second trip to earth, He will not be carrying a shepherd's rod but a rod of iron and judgment. That is what these conjunctions are saying as they utter speech day unto day for anyone who has eyes to see. It is simple to read the text Christologically with a basic understanding of the star names within the constellations. Simply stated, Leo is Jesus and Hydra is Satan. Jesus has His feet on Satan's head, in much the same way as Hercules is trouncing on Draco (the serpent) in the middle of the heavens. The heavens are symbolically showing the ultimate triumph over evil, as promised in the Bible. In Leo, it shows judgment and vindication as well. These conjunctions are like God's way of underlining His text in the heavens to show that Jesus is coming.

Since the first conjunction of Venus and Jupiter over the head of Hydra, Venus has been retrograding in a way that will cause it to circle back over Hydra's head as if it is tracing a noose around it. In other words, Venus' retrograde over Hydra shows it closing in on the kill, indicating judgment and punishment against Satan, and ultimately his death. In addition, Venus' July 22 conjunction with Regulus, the star that means "ruling under foot," displays Messiah's brilliant dominance over evil and its perpetrator. A few weeks later, Jupiter gets its turn to go into conjunction with Regulus between the lion's feet on August 11.

In the second conjunction on August 4, Venus and Jupiter will not be as closely aligned as they were in the first one, but they will still be aligned toward the North Pole. Venus will begin making its circle around Hydra's head at this time and continue doing so in the western sky up to the last conjunction in October.

This last of the Venus/Jupiter triple conjunctions will occur in the back portion of Leo, where the star Denebola is located. Since Denebola means "the Lord is coming to judge," we can reasonably deduce that this indicates judgment. Corvus, the avenging vulture, also contributes to this judgment message. The Lion of the tribe of Judah, depicted by Leo, will open the seals and release the evil to show the world what He, because of His mercy, has been holding back from them for so long. The time of the Great Tribulation and God's Wrath will be intensely sobering and fearful when God removes His hand from holding back man's enemies. It will be a time of righteousness and justice as evil is exposed and punished. The true God Yahweh will have the last say.

When this time comes, everyone on earth will know it. It will not be hidden away in a dark corner-it will happen in the presence of the entire world.

The Venus/Jupiter conjunction two thousand years ago that was possibly "His Star" announced Messiah's first coming in glory and peace on earth to all. Could it be that the Venus/Jupiter triple conjunction of 2015 is also "His Star," announcing His second coming when He will bring His judgment to the world?

Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. ~Luke 21:28

Our times are in His hands.

Jupiter and Venus Conjunction

Jupiter and Venus Conjunction
June 30/ July 1, 2015

There will be a dazzling sight on the night of June 30/July 1 (2015) if the skies are clear. Outside of the moon and the sun, the two brightest celestial bodies are Venus and Jupiter, and these two planets will be aligning together in a conjunction that night. These alignments reoccur at least every 13 months and, depending upon the degrees of separation between the two planets, they can almost appear as one light. Since they are so easily seen right now, we can begin tracing them all the way through their conjunction by looking in the western sky right after sunset. Venus comes into view first as the brighter of the two, followed closely by Jupiter to its left. They will gradually move closer together over the next two weeks as Venus chases and catches Jupiter on the last day of June. This will be not only a brilliant sight, but also one with Christological significance.

This conjunction will closely resemble the one that occurred just before Jesus of Nazareth was born. Revelation 12:1–4, along with astronomical history, reveals that He was born on Tishri 1, 3 bc (September 11, Gregorian dating); and just one month before this, on August 12, 3 bc, a conjunction of Venus and Jupiter occurred in the front portion of the constellation of Leo. The one we hope to view on June 30/July 1 offers an opportunity to see what the magi (the wise men) saw, as it will be positioned in almost the same location.

The first depiction shown below from the Stellarium computer program shows the conjunction that will occur on July 1, 2015 and the second depiction shows the one that occurred on August 12, 3 bc. (Note: The Stellarium software includes a zero year (“0”) in its timeline, so 1 year must be subtracted from any “bc” date. Therefore, August 12, 3 bc must be entered into Stellarium as “August 12, -2” to get an accurate view of that night’s sky.) Notice that both conjunctions were located in the same place on the ecliptic path, in Leo, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, which represents the coming King of kings.

The 2015 conjunction coming up will give us the rare opportunity to witness a similar scene that the magi saw. They were watching the paths of Venus and Jupiter very closely since Daniel had prophesied the date of the coming of Messiah. Venus, the bright and morning star, representing Messiah’s passion and love, “chased” Jupiter and eventually caught up when they were both in Leo. We will witness a similar chase as Venus follows after Jupiter leading up to the conjunction. Venus, the effulgence of beauty and passion, represents the bride of Christ; and Jupiter, also known as the King Planet, represents Messiah, the groom. As such, when Venus chases Jupiter, it shows the bride of Christ pursuing the King and coming together with Him in His reign on earth, as Leo indicates. The magi anticipated His first coming as the Redeemer and King. Now, we likewise anticipate His coming as King and Bridegroom. In short, this conjunction tells all who have eyes to see that the promise of reigning with Him as His bride will be given to those who chase the Lord and catch Him.

This will certainly be fun to watch over the course of the next couple of weeks. As you see it in the evening, remember that the Lord likes to be pursued and caught. Be reminded that those who the Lord will choose to reign with Him in His millennial Kingdom will be those who chased Him and did not quit till they caught Him.

As an additional note, the conjunction that followed the one in 3 bc is one of the closest alignments of Venus and Jupiter in history. They came so close together on June 17, 2 bc that they appeared as one star, which had to be extremely bright since they are the two brightest planets. In fact, many astronomers believe that this was the touted “His Star.” The conjunction coming up on June 30/July 1 will be quite close but not as close as that one.

When we think of how closely this conjunction resembles the one that the magi witnessed and then we combine that with the prophetic implications of other current celestial events, we can’t help but lift up our eyes and see that our redemption is drawing nigh!

Ambition: The Great Enemy of the Apostle

Ambition
The Great Enemy of the Apostle

All ministries have enemies, but the enemy of ambition presents an especially deadly, silent killer that targets successful leaders and plots their demise. The more we can learn about the symptoms of ambition and the devastation it causes, the more successfully we can guard ourselves from it. The ministry of an apostle, which is such a vital provision to the church of Jesus Christ, seems to be especially targeted by ambition. By God’s grace, I have had the privilege to work with apostles in India for almost 20 years. This experience has opened my eyes to the value of this ministry, as well as to the subtlety and pitfalls of its enemy, ambition. I hope to shine some light on this threat and offer some suggestions to overcome it.

I recently completed a five-week itinerary through the country of India where I hosted six apostles conferences and taught about the enemies of different ministries, especially of apostles. The men and women who attended these conferences urged me to write this exposé on ambition so that other apostles and leaders can be aware of this dastardly nemesis and overcome it.

Several years ago I was introduced to the teaching of the five-fold ministries as represented by the five fingers on the hand. The thumb is said to represent the apostle; the forefinger, the prophet; the middle finger, the evangelist; the ring finger, the pastor; and the little finger, the teacher. This analogy has helped me see the strengths in these ministries but also the potential weaknesses within them too. Though we are in the process of studying ambition as one of the apostle’s greatest enemies, it may help to see it in the context of the other four leadership ministries’ weaknesses and possible enemies. The apostles present in my recent teachings were extremely interested in the enemies of all five ministries, so I will briefly share a little on all of these before focusing on the enemy of ambition.

The prophet, represented in the analogy by the forefinger, points the way for the body of Christ; his/her greatest enemy is rejection. The evangelist, represented by the middle (and longest) finger, has the longest extension into the world; his/her greatest foe is recognition. The pastor, represented by the ring finger, is the one who provides security; his/her greatest enemy is the lack of security. The teacher, represented by the little finger, is the one who goes to the smallest places and does the smallest things; his/her greatest enemy is intellectualism. (At some point I would like to write an article on each of these, but for now we will focus on ambition, the powerful enemy of the apostle.)

We can also see the strengths of the five ministries through the hand analogy. The thumb is the only digit on the hand that readily contacts all the other fingers. It can gather them all together in a powerful, clenched fist or release them to be utilized in the most delicate of all functions. Another of the thumb’s strengths is to provide grip to the body. This is very important, as it matters not how sharp the sword, if there is no grip to hold it. However, if the thumb holds the fist too tightly and does not ever release the fingers, that strength can become its own enemy. Likewise, the apostle can gather all the ministries together for powerful warfare and also release them to do their work in the body of Christ. But if the apostle becomes controlling, he/she may actually prevent the other ministries from being released. The strength of any ministry can become its enemy if it is misused through an improper motive. If the motive becomes “self” instead of the Lord, that strength will be turned into an enemy.

Ambition needs to be addressed and honestly looked at by all ministries, but especially by the apostles. The truth of ambition being the apostle’s enemy is glaringly obvious the more we look at it. As a matter of research, I discovered this enemy almost as much from observation as from reading the Scriptures. So, not only will we explore some profound examples of ambition from the Bible, but we will also look at a couple of examples I have observed in current times. The church is often shocked and heartbroken when ambition destroys a ministry; yet we should not be surprised by the effectiveness of its deployment, since it was the initial poison that consumed Satan. Why wouldn’t he use it on those who are serving the body of Christ? Indeed, he has used it slyly through the years, trying to buy and sell some of the chief leaders in the church. He even tried it on Jesus, but thankfully he failed. We must admit that the devil has often been successful with this tactic, so it’s time we strip off his mask and reveal the monster of ambition that has consumed so many of our brethren.

Definition of Ambition

When I write, I usually like to give a dictionary definition for the topic, but in this case, I will use the definition that I received personally from the Chief Apostle Jesus. When I tell you what He said, you will see that it truly came from Him—because I am not that smart to figure these things out.

To set the stage, on this trip to India that I just returned from, I was resting in my room after an intense teaching on ambition in one particular conference in Chennai (Madras). (I had taught an apostles conference there almost 15 years before and was eager to see what had resulted from those teachings.) On this particular occasion, the Holy Spirit energized me with an unction to stay on this subject all through the morning period until lunch break. During the lunch break, as I reclined on my bed, the Lord spoke to me. He said, “You are right on what you have been teaching on ambition.” (I had been teaching on Absalom, one of King David’s sons, and how ambition shipwrecked his life.) The Lord contributed, “If you want another example—how about Judas?” The example of Judas sort of stunned me, maybe because it was so obvious and I had not thought of it. As I pondered the reason for Judas’ betrayal, I asked the Lord, “So ambition is wanting more than what you have?” He replied, “No, wanting more is not a problem. Ambition is taking what doesn’t belong to you.

This profound revelation allowed me to understand ambition in a new way. So, for the sake of definition, I will refer to ambition as “taking what does not belong to you.” The reverberation of this is still echoing in my head, and more and more examples keep popping up in front of me. I do not want to be categorical by saying that ambition is the “greatest” of all weapons against the apostle, but I have it on a good source that it is certainly a problem. Jesus said so. As I taught this in the various apostles conferences, it was interesting to observe the reactions of the mighty men and women who were in attendance. The Holy Spirit often revealed to me how the confrontation was working on their hearts; sadly, it also seemed to bounce off the heads of some who might have been the most prone to this kind of pride and deception.

The Test of Success

An open door through which the enemy of ambition can pass to affect the ministry of an apostle is success. Derek Prince, one of my heroes of apostolic ministry, shared once that “the greatest test is success.” From observations I have made since hearing him say that, I believe the reason for this is because success has the potential to fuel the flames of pride and self-accomplishment. Genuine apostles generally have strong leadership qualities, as well as a lot of charisma. The Scriptures tell us of Lucifer’s abilities and leadership qualities, so he would have certainly been prone to ambition. We also know he fell prey to it because the Scriptures tell of his fall that resulted from his plans of self-imposed loftiness. It is only natural that he would use the same tactic that poisoned him to target successful leaders in the church to stop them from furthering God’s kingdom.

In church vernacular, ambition can be defined as someone building their own kingdom rather than building God’s kingdom. It is trying to take what is not yours. The only ones who can even hope to build their own kingdoms are those who have experienced some measure of success. In Jesus’ case, His potential for success was blatantly pointed out when John baptized Him and God said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17b). Immediately afterwards, Jesus was driven into the wilderness where one of the temptations He faced from Satan was the offer of all the kingdoms of the world and the glory that came with them. Jesus didn’t bite, because it was not His to take. However, not all people (including apostles) are so noble or immune to the alluring fame of recognition and self-achievement.

Humility—the Antidote for Ambition

Among the best Scriptures that address ambition as the apostle’s enemy are those where we see Jesus’ response when this topic arose among His 12 apostles. Consider that these men were chosen by Jesus, and they were likely men of ability. These would be men He could train to take His place, and so He would not have chosen mental midgets or weaklings. The twelve were an interesting and gifted lot, which made them ideal targets for ambition. There were also leadership distinctions amongst them, which meant not everyone had the same privilege or responsibility. We can see this from His appointment of Peter, James, and John as the leaders of the group. It is interesting to note that Jesus gave the bag to Judas, not to tempt him, but because he had the ability to steward the money.

Jesus was direct and sometimes intense when questions arose about ambition, as seen in the following record.

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” ~Matthew 18:1–4

Using the word “greatest” sounds like an advertisement for Muhammad Ali (former heavyweight boxing champion), and the question of who fits in that category drew a quick response of reproof from the Master to the ambitious ones. By displaying a child as the greatest in the kingdom, He drives home the truth that humility is the key to entering the kingdom.

In this record, disciples were asking the question, but He repeats the truth of humility as the antidote to ambition in other records as well. Due to the fact that there were 12 testosteronal leaders living and traveling together with Him full time, it should come as no surprise that “boys will be boys” and therefore the same question would arise among these men as well. It happens in schoolyards across the world, and it happened in the microcosm of Jesus’ group too.

In Mark 9:33–37, He had to address the issue directly with the 12 apostles as they traveled together.

Then He came to Capernaum. And when He was in the house He asked them, “What was it you disputed among yourselves on the road?” But they kept silent, for on the road they had disputed among themselves who would be the greatest. And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” ~Mark 9:33–35

Jesus basically taught them that the greatest leader would be the greatest servant; in other words, humility is the antidote for ambition. In Luke chapter 9, He dresses them down again with the same lesson, using a little child to illustrate the one “who is least among you all.”

Then a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest. And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great.” ~Luke 9:46–48

Then in Luke chapter 22 he taught them that His kind of leadership is not the Gentile-lord-it-over-you type, but rather it is carried out through serving—again emphasizing humility.

But there was also rivalry among them, as to which of them should be considered the greatest. And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’ But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves.” ~Luke 22:24–27

And lastly, my favorite account pertaining to Jesus’ lessons on humility is of Him washing the feet of His apostles shortly before He was betrayed, beaten, and led to the cross. Even with the knowledge that this was coming, He still humbled Himself and served with love. But what really drives the point home is what He said to them afterwards.

So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, happy are you if you do them. ~John 13:12–17

He displayed a blueprint for them to follow, and then told them why He had done it. He finished His lesson by telling them that “if you know these things, happy are you if you do them.”

Most of these lessons were for the 12 apostles. Do you think that ambition is an issue with apostles? Humility, the antidote for ambition, was what Jesus was trying to teach in all these records, but it became the most clear when He washed the feet of the 12. Here’s the kicker—He washed the feet of his betrayer, Judas, and of the one who would deny Him three times (Peter). This exemplified the new kind of love that He was bringing with the new covenant. What a portrayal of humility, service, and love! This is how disciples are known (John 13:34), not by how high and mighty they appear, or by who has the highest seat on the stage.

Sadly, this kind of Christian leadership is rare. There are good guys and great gals that serve the Lord and really get this right, but more and more they seem to be less and less. I have seen the fallout of ambition in India, as well as all over the world. When this enemy plays its full course and comes into maturity, innocent by-standers are devastated by the betrayal of their leader.

As an international apostle, one of my jobs is to bring international perspectives to the body of Christ. So I am here to tell you that it does not matter your culture, your country, your ethnicity, or your language, the devil is going to try and buy you out by tempting you with what does not belong to you. He tried it with the Chief Apostle; he tried it with the 12, and he will try it with you. Remember that intrinsically, apostles are proactive kingdom advancers and warriors. As such, they are the great prizes that the devil loves to hang in his trophy room. Satan knows that it is often easier (and more effective) to buy someone than it is to kill them. He knows that if he can buy them, they will be working for him and manifesting his nature instead of the true God’s.

Ambition is a treacherous, slippery slope.

Examples of Ambition

Examples of ambition should include those who have fallen to it as well as those who overcame it—the chief overcomer being Jesus of Nazareth. At a time of great weakness from fasting 40 days, Satan showed up to tempt Him with ambition.

Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” ~Luke 4:5–7

Although a time was coming when the Father would exalt Jesus, this was not the time, nor the way; and if Jesus took it then, ambition would have conquered Him as it had conquered Satan. Jesus didn’t bite because He saw the hook. He was submissive only to His Father and not to Satan’s temptation of ambition. He did not fall down and worship Satan; instead, because of His humility and obedience to God, He gained far more than Satan promised Him.

But [He] made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a servant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ~Philippians 2:7–11

Jesus humbled Himself and became a servant in obedience to the Father; Satan exalted himself and was driven by ambition, motivated fundamentally by greed and self-adoration. Satan’s attempted ascent to the Mount of God was because he wanted something that belonged only to God and decided to try and take it. Bad move. To think that he could take something that belonged only to the omniscient and omnipotent God shows his stupidity; but ambition can also blind the hearts and mind of believers from such obvious facts. All that Satan could see was what he did not have and how much he wanted it. His greed drove him into insanity. He was blinded by ambition.

David set a good example of overcoming the blindness of ambition in his handling of becoming king over Israel. Having the opportunity to kill King Saul on several occasions, he opted to wait on the Lord to receive what God had promised him. David was a ruthless murderer in the eyes of many, yet God saw him as a man who would repent because he was a man after God’s own heart. God promised David the throne, but David had the wisdom to wait on Him instead of taking it for himself. While teaching in India, the Lord gave me a prophetic utterance that went like this, “Wanna bet if David had killed Saul that someone would have killed David?” The throne had already been promised to David, so his temptation was not to take something that wasn’t his, but to take it before God’s timing. Because of his love for the Lord, he chose to wait on Him instead of taking it for himself.

The comparison between David and his son Absalom is perhaps one of the starkest when looking at examples of humility and service versus ambition and selfishness. As previously mentioned, David was patient, waiting on the promise of God. Absalom, on the other hand, decided to take what he desired, even before it became available. If you take the time to read the record of his life in 2 Samuel chapters 13–19, you will find that not only was he extremely good looking, he was also courageous, quite the planner (or schemer), and a great leader. Even though he was not David’s firstborn son, he could have potentially been his choice to inherit the throne. However, because he was driven by selfishness and ambition, his life was a convoluted mess instead and he suffered a horrible early death.

Years before that, he killed his half-brother, Amnon, for raping his sister and was subsequently exiled for many years from the kingdom until Joab (who eventually ended up killing him) convinced David to let him back in the kingdom as long as he caused no further trouble. However, as soon as he was back in town, he started scheming to take the throne from his father. It culminated with him actually driving King David out of Jerusalem and going into David’s concubines in the presence of all Israel as an insult to his father. He chased after David with the intent to finish the fight but was foiled by the will of God, lest he would have been successful in taking over the throne. In the ensuing battle for the kingdom of Israel, Joab killed Absalom when he thrust him through with three spears. When hearing of his son’s death, the Scriptures say David mourned more for Absalom than he did for the soldiers who had just given their lives for him to retake Jerusalem and his throne.

In my opinion, I believe that David wept so hard for Absalom because in his heart, he knew that he may have been the best choice to follow him as king. Regardless, Absalom’s ambition and his overall lack of character caused the hand of God to fall against him. Destruction and judgment are consequences of ambition when it is not repented of and, instead, is allowed to fully mature. While people driven by ambition may possess all the skills and perhaps even the calling to do a certain thing, it will also compel them to want it ahead of time, to the end that they will take that thing in their own way rather than waiting patiently on God.

I mentioned earlier in this article that as I was teaching this subject in India at one of the apostles conferences, the Lord gave me a revelation about ambition. I had just been teaching on Absalom as an example and was resting in my room between sessions, reclining on my bed with my favorite baseball cap pulled down over my eyes. Suddenly He spoke this into my spirit, “You are right about the ambition thing.” He asked me if I wanted another example (besides Absalom). Of course I did, so I immediately replied, “Yes, Sir,” and He said, “How about Judas?” I instantly felt a wave of understanding wash over me as I saw the obvious greed and ambition of Judas.

This is when I asked Him, “So, ambition is wanting more than what you have?” and He responded, “No! Ambition is taking what doesn’t belong to you.” He was telling me that if He has not given it to the person then it doesn’t belong to them. This was what I got from Him: There is nothing wrong with wanting more and even having a desire to do more. This is part of being an apostle—to be a kingdom taker. But taking it when the Lord has not given it is ambition.

A number of years ago, I tried to help a man’s ministry by arranging a couple of meetings for him and also taking him with me on a missionary journey. He was a really cool guy who was very gifted in his ministry and I just wanted to help him. Funny thing though, I consistently heard from those attending the ministry engagements I set up for him that he was saying demeaning things about me in order to promote himself. Of course, I wanted to confront him and was determined to do so, but the Lord told me to sit and watch what would happen. I told the Lord, “Okay, I’ll forgive him but I still don’t like him.” I was surprised when the Lord responded, “I don’t either,” so I said, “Lord I thought you loved everyone.” He replied, “Yes, but I get to like who I want to.” I said, “Okay I get it. I love him too, but I still don’t want to hang out with him anymore.” Jesus schooled me further when He added, “I don’t hang out with ambitious people. I do not like people with pride. I actually resist them. It pleases me to dwell with people who are of humble and contrite (broken) spirits.” The Lord likes to hang out with people who have humility.

To finish the story when the Lord said to wait and watch, this fellow continued his self-promotion itinerary and actually forced his way into some places commending himself in his own anointing. The sad part is that the anointing on him was genuine, but the ambition caused its sweet fragrance to putrefy, and his gift to this day has never been fully appreciated.

As I was teaching about ambition in India, my country coordinator, Dr. B.V.S.N. Rao, told me a story that I am reluctant to tell because it is so sad. However, I know it needs to be shared, because it is real and relevant. Dr. Rao was an event coordinator for an Indian evangelist of mega-fame with meetings that sometimes numbered in the hundreds of thousands. He was a hit with the Hindus and led a lot of them to salvation. He was big money in India and the USA; however, as time passed and his fame grew, he began talking less about Jesus and more about himself. When his crowds began to shrink, he talked even louder and more about himself. Subsequently, his crowds dwindled even smaller, at which time he decided to go into politics instead. He was a nationally famous evangelist well known by both Hindu and Christian sectors alike. His brother, who was before him in the Lord and ran a big church that they shared, opposed his decision to go into politics, because he knew that all the money they had raised for the kingdom would be spent on that instead. Their disagreement was so great that it even hit the news media. At that point, the once-famous evangelist took a contract out on his brother to have him killed. Two hit men ran his brother off a road one night and then finished him off. The former big-time evangelist pursued politics and did exactly what his brother said he would do—he spent all their money on his campaign. However, after a couple of years, the same two hit men were caught in a separate scandal and offered the authorities the details of the hit on the evangelist’s brother. They turned in state evidence and the authorities arrested the former evangelist who is now in jail facing charges of first-degree murder. And the body of Christ walks away from this with a big black eye because of one man’s ambition.

Ambition is taking something that the Lord did not give you. These are hard lessons, but they are necessary, just as it is sometimes necessary to rebuke people “in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear,” according to 1 Timothy 5:20. These lessons are vital because if an apostle, or any leader in God’s kingdom, falls because of ambition, the consequences will not only stain his life and reputation but also the name of the Lord he supposedly stands for.

We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, so the caution against ambition should reverberate in all our souls. You certainly do not have to be an apostle to be tempted with this device that Satan has tried on every man and woman, especially those with extraordinary ability and influence.

The age-old question is still, “Is your soul for sale?” If you have a price, the devil can pay it. Take the story of the old man who asked the young girl if she would stay the night with him for a thousand dollars. “Okay,” she said. He asked, “Well, would you do it for ten dollars?” The young lady responded, “Absolutely not. What do you think I am?” “That,” the old man said, “has already been determined; now we are haggling over the price.” The point is, if you have a price, the devil is willing to pay.

The example of Judas still lingers in my soul. I know that the reason Jesus gave him the responsibility of overseeing the money and administrating their finances is because he had the ability to do it. It was not to tempt him, but to challenge him because of his gifts and talents. But Judas got ambitious. Many have speculated his motives, and some have said he had a plan to force Jesus into a military campaign or a religious showdown with the hierarchy. However, the Scriptures affirmatively state that he received 30 pieces of silver for the deal. That reason we know for sure. If each piece of silver was an ounce, at today’s rate of approximately $20/ounce, then Judas cut a deal to deliver the Messiah and King of kings to the religious fight club for a lousy $600 in today’s currency. Either way we cut it, he sold out for a bag of money. He took what was not his!

Ambition is pride on steroids. It is the lust of accomplishment for self-exaltation that is fueled by greed and selfishness. It is a deadly enemy. When we look at the wake of death and destruction it has left in its path as it has wormed its way secularly across the world, it seems that the church of Jesus Christ, the called and elect of God, would be above such temptations. Sadly, this has not been the case.

Jesus’ character carried Him through and above this temptation. He is our example of sacrifice, love, and humility. We are to follow Him in the example He set, and this is especially true of His leaders in the church who are truly called to be servants. His breathtaking example of washing the feet of the 12 sets the standard for this. What He said afterwards to His apostles sums up the whole matter.

If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. ~John 13:14–15

Jesus demonstrated the greatest of all leadership qualities—to be a true servant with humility. God does not give humility but He has been known to send humiliation, which often comes after ambition has wreaked its havoc. Ambition is taking more than what God has given you, but humility is being thankful for what you have. Humility is the antidote to ambition.
