Magi Alert!!! The Alpha and Omega of September 23rd, 2017 Retrogrades of Mercury and Jupiter

Millions of eyes were focused on the skies of August 21st during the Great American Eclipse; and now as we look toward the September 23rd phenomenon, another secret treasure is unfolding. Mercury, Kova Chammah—the Sun’s messenger—has been retrograding since July 25, and will continue doing so until September 9, 2017, around the omega star Regulus. In addition, Jupiter, Tsedeq—the king planet—has also been retrograding around the alpha star Spica in Virgo, the virgin. These retrogrades, which bookend the September 23rd event that is taking place at the beginning and ending of the Mazzaroth (between Virgo and Leo), are heralding the coming of Alpha and Omega!

As if this were not enough, during the solar eclipse, Mercury’s retrograde was drawing a circle around the Earth, Moon, Sun, and Regulus—all while the world was watching the eclipse. The signs in the background of the Sun contained a great mystery; and the daytime curtain was pulled back for all to see it. The truth was no longer hiding but was brought out in plain sight as the Sun was blacked out by the Moon’s shadow; so anyone in the path of totality was able to see this wonder. An amazing four-celestial-sphere linear conjunction was in plain sight during the Great American Eclipse 2017. What does all this mean?

When the probabilities of all these signs and wonders in the skies are considered, they should dazzle any mathematician and statistician. My recent YouTube post on the event of September 23rd, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QP3SicH2NPI, shows the almost inconceivable probability of the celestial lineup of this date—19.25 quadrillion to 1. And now there is data that confirms the importance of the event with additional celestial understanding of its meaning.

This exciting news should thrill anyone who believes in the intricacies of the celestial, eternal God-clock and His ever-watchful care over His Word. Remember the key to unlocking the mysteries of the heavens is the same one for unlocking the Bible: It is all about the Messiah. Many of us already know His name; but we need to pray that millions more come to know Him through the messages being practically shouted from the heavens during this time. Please share this news and check out the link at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCg15HWE2R4zAanq88xM6Avw.

Alpha and Omega

Alpha (A) and Omega (Ω) are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, or aleph and tav in Hebrew. They mean “beginning” and “end,” respectively, and form a type of an encoded name for Messiah, found in Revelation 1:8. There is a definite beginning and ending marker in the zodiac, specifically between Virgo and Leo. This recent discovery in the celestial scriptures concerning these two retrograde bookends frames the huge significant sign in the heavens that will occur on September 23rd. The one bookend retrograde occurs in Virgo (the beginning of the zodiac) and the other is happening in Leo (the ending constellation of the zodiac). I have been teaching my fellow magi the importance of retrogrades as a means of interpreting the celestial messages for some time now. With these two currently going on above us at such a pivotal time, we will see this applied in a very real way. I cannot overemphasize the depth of this truth—it is layers and layers deeper than most stargazers could conceptualize; and I am not saying this to be condescending, but to express the depth and importance of it.

It will be necessary to cover a brief lesson in Christological astronomy in order to grasp the significance of this alpha and omega truth. The Mazzaroth (the Hebrew name for the zodiac) begins in the constellation of Virgo. Virgo represents the virgin (Mary) who gave birth to the Messiah. It then ends in the constellation of Leo, which represents the lion of the tribe of Judah—the King of kings. They are the beginning (Alpha) and end (Omega) of the circle of ecliptic constellations that tell the story of Messiah.

·         He was born of a virgin (Virgo)
·         He was a sacrifice for sin (Libra)
·         He was wounded (Scorpio)
·         He overcame death and Satan (Sagittarius)
·         He was raised from the dead (Capricorn)
·         He gave the Holy Spirit to His followers (Aquarius)
·         Which empowered them to rule over Satan (Pisces)
·         And to reign in life (Aries)
·         He is coming as the bull (Taurus)
·         For His bride (Gemini)
·         To reign with Him (Cancer)
·         As the Lion—King of kings (Leo)

There is even now a celestial light show taking place in Virgo around the star Spica, or Al Zemach—the righteous offspring, and in Leo around its primary star Regulus, known as the King star and the omega star of the Mazzaroth. Not only are the retrogrades occurring in the alpha and omega constellations (the beginning and ending constellations of the Mazzaroth), but they are specifically around Spica, the alpha star of the heavens, and Regulus, the King Star of Leo, which we are designating as the omega star of the Mazzaroth. These simultaneous retrogrades are messages at the beginning and the end of the Mazzaroth and signify that the First and the Last—Jesus—is coming to Earth.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. ~Revelation 1:8

Celestially, the Lord is the Alpha and the Omega, the Virgo and the Leo, and the Righteous Branch and the Coming King. These two retrogrades are signaling the coming of the Alpha and the Omega.

Simultaneous Conjunctions

Furthermore, when two celestial bodies align with the celestial north within a certain degree boundary, another astronomical event occurs called a conjunction.1 On September 9th, Mercury, the messenger, will be in conjunction with the omega star Regulus and Jupiter will be in conjunction with the alpha star Spica. Both of these planets will be directly aligned on that day with the major stars of the two constellations. Then, within two weeks, as these two planets continue in their movement, they will both be in exact positions to fulfill the celestial picture from Revelation 12:1 and 2. It is beginning to look like the woman (Virgo) is the bride of Christ, and the King (Leo) is the Bridegroom—the Coming King. Could it be that He is coming to take His bride away in preparation for His 1,000-year reign upon the Earth?

Has anyone considered that Jesus may have been referring to Jupiter coming out of the womb of Virgo as the fulfillment of Matthew 24:8 when He said that the beginning of tribulation begins with birth pangs?

All these are the beginning of birth pains. ~Matthew 24:8 (NIV)

It appears this September 23rd date may be a good candidate for the beginning of the Great Tribulation. Mercury, the prophetic herald, and Jupiter, the King, are saying this. This might be the post-figure and celestial re-presentation of John the Baptist announcing the coming of Jesus of Nazareth, proclaiming, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Let’s not overlook the truth that John the Baptist and Jesus both commanded the people to repent to prepare for it.

Retrograde of Mercury

Who pointed out the fact that during the magnificent solar eclipse of August 21
st, Mercury, the Sun’s messenger, was retrograding directly around the eclipse? I admit that I did not see that while my wife and I were privileged enough to witness its totality in Casper, Wyoming. During totality, when we removed our solar shields, I looked for Regulus, but the alignment was only 1 degree away and the corona of the Sun obscured it. But, regardless it was there, even though I could not observe it at the time with my naked eyes. Regulus was in direct alignment with the Sun, Moon, and Earth in the heart of Leo the Lion of the tribe of Judah. In other words, the Earth, the Moon, the Sun, and the star Regulus were in conjunction. Four celestial spheres in alignment and conjunction is quite rare indeed. Yet, as an additional surprise, Mercury was drawing a circle around it—showing its extreme significance.

A retrograde is what led the wise men (the magi) to Jesus in Nazareth (not Bethlehem) when He was a young child (not a newborn baby). Retrogrades are optical illusions that occur when one celestial object overtakes another moving celestial object. When observing the background behind the other object, it (the second object) appears to go backwards and then forward.

In this sense, it appears that a planet stops for a brief time and then goes briefly backwards, and then stops again and reverses back into its prograde movement. This makes it seem to draw a circle or ellipse in that portion of the sky. When any planet begins its retrograde motion, it appears to stand still.

When they (the magi) had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.                                                                   Matthew 2:9
Years ago when I was teaching my youngest daughter Elisabeth about astronomy, I asked her, “Do you think it would be important if the planet Mars drew a circle in the sky?” “Oh, my goodness yes!” she exclaimed. Then, with amazing perception, she asked, “What is it drawing the circle around?” Great question, Elisabeth! In the instance of this particular retrograde, Mercury has been drawing a circle around the primary star Regulus since July 25th—almost a month before the Great American Eclipse. As it was drawing its circle around Regulus, it also came into conjunction with it three times, as if it was repeating it for emphasis. As the Sun’s messenger, it heralds and announces in much the same way John the Baptist did for Jesus of Nazareth. This is what Mercury is doing for Jupiter in the retrogrades culminating on September 9th when both of them re-enter prograde motion and come into conjunction with the primary star in the respective constellations.

The conjunctions are restating the message of Regulus during the retrograde. The number three means complete; and Regulus has several meanings from ancient languages, including “regal” or “kingly” (Latin) and “to trample under foot” (Hebrew).

The solar eclipse at Regulus and the retrograde around it is pointing to the Alpha constellation of Virgo where Jupiter is moving out of Virgo’s womb. Regulus is playing the role of John the Baptist who announced “prepare the way for the coming of the Lord.” The meaning of Regulus is important—and it is announcing “prepare the way for the coming of the King.”

Certainly, Regulus means king, no doubt. It is the king star in the king constellation; and Jupiter, the king planet, retrograded with it three times in the year of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. Yet, Regel (its Hebrew name) means “to trample under foot,” which is displayed in the constellations where Leo has its paws over the top of Hydra, the great sea serpent.

The triple conjunction of Mercury around Regulus says the same thing three times: “The King is coming; the King is coming, the King is coming, and He is coming to throw down Satan; He is coming to trample him under foot; and He is coming to rend him to pieces.” These messages are in agreement with Jupiter’s message: “The King arriving,” as announced in Virgo. Remember, these retrogrades are taking place in the Mazzaroth’s Alpha and Omega constellations and stars.

The following table will give you the positions of Mercury and its retrogrades and conjunctions for an approximate two-month period. This is the herald that announces the coming of the King (Revelation 12:1 and 2) and the casting down of Satan (Revelation 12:3 and 4.)

Dancing with Regulus

In addition to all the great signs of September 23, 2017 and Revelation 12:1–4ff, we have seen what the Mercury retrograde means, but the light show is not over. If the attention was not drawn to Jupiter and Spica, we might easily confuse the most important event with what is happening in and around Regulus. In less than two months, Regulus is involved with six major celestial arrangements—one of which was the August 21st solar eclipse.

Remember that Regulus is the Messiah’s Omega star, announcing His coming; and these celestial phenomena mark that prophetic fulfillment. Regulus is also mentioned in Genesis 49:10 as the “lawgiver between the feet of Leo, the lion of the tribe of Judah.”2 In Yeshua of Nazareth’s first coming, Jupiter circled Regulus, showing that He was bringing the new law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Mercury’s encircling of Regulus in our current time is pivotal because it is showing that a new law is coming and that there will be a new sheriff in town soon. This is what Mercury and Regulus are saying too. This new sheriff will not tolerate the rebellion of Satan, the dragon, nor any of his cohorts. He will shortly bind Satan for a thousand years. He is not coming with a shepherd’s crook but with a rod of iron, a sword and a serious attitude. (When one enters the battle with an attitude and his vesture dipped in blood, he is obviously not there to negotiate.) The archangel Michael will enforce the rule (Revelation 12:5ff), and Satan will be cast down—according to the new lawgiver’s (symbolized by Regulus) new laws for His millennial reign. Rebellion will not be tolerated. The King is coming to rule with a rod of iron. Repenting ahead of time is the key to receiving Him with joy and not trepidation.

This many conjunctions of Regulus within a two-month time period is highly unusual and rarely duplicated. In light of Jupiter’s retrograde in Virgo, it is unprecedented. The bookend retrogrades of Jupiter around Spica in Virgo and Mercury around Regulus in Leo are breathtaking, but Regulus’ participation in its eclipse alignment with the Sun, Moon, and Earth is beyond the realm of possible recurrence.

Summary

The retrogrades of Jupiter and Mercury simultaneously being in conjunction with the Alpha and Omega stars of Spica and Regulus make up the bookends of the great sign of Revelation 12:1–4. The addition of the triple retrogrades of Mercury underwrites the coming judgment foretold in Revelation 12:3 and 4 and the casting down of Satan chronicled in the remainder of Revelation 12–14.

The aligning of the three planets with the crown of nine stars in Leo could symbolically picture a headdress for the bride of Christ as they dutifully march in processional order for the start of the ceremony. Regulus the King, being coronated by Mercury the herald, along with Spica the righteous branch, being honored by the Jupiter the king, make a perfect wedding picture for Virgo and Leo.

Men and Brethren, What Shall We Do (Acts 2:37b)?

This appeal from those who were pricked in their hearts for crucifying the Son of glory seems appropriate for all of us now have the fear of God in us and want to do what is right. In the depth of my heart, I believe the simple command, “Repent,” summarizes what we can do to change any potential outcome. If Yeshua ben Yahweh is coming for His bride, nothing can prevent that, but the outcome for us as individuals can be changed if our lamp is trimmed.

It is feasible that the bride of Christ could be gathered to the Bridegroom on, or about, the day of September 23rd, or shortly afterwards throughout the fall feasts. Meanwhile, the foolish virgins of Matthew 25:1–13 will watch them leave with embarrassment because they were asleep at the switch and were not watching to be ready. Scripturally, the bride of Christ will come out of the body of Christ just like the bride of Adam came out of the body of Adam. It appears that if the bride is taken, then the rest of the body of Christ will be left here during the Great Tribulation. Revelation 12:17–14:20 indicates that the dragon will persecute the remnant of the woman’s seed and those who keep the commandments of Jesus Christ. I believe this pretty much says that there will be some believers who will go through the Great Tribulation—or at least be here after September 23rd. I know a lot of people who confess Jesus as their Lord but need a good scrubbing in their conscience, their soul, and their character; and they will surely get a chance to do so during that time. And they will also have the opportunity during that time to make the choice of either living their faith or taking the mark of the beast and suffering the eternal consequences.

Eternal consequences is a serious issue and we should take these things to heart. The statistical probabilities of the occurrence of these events are almost incomprehensible, and yet they are upon us now with absolute documentation. The ball is already in motion, and there is no possibility of reverse engineering. How fitting that no one could see them until computerized astronomy revealed them to us. We must be living in the end times when knowledge increases (Daniel 12:4). We have been warned.

These are truly great signs in the heavens accompanying the great sign of Revelation 12:1–4 on September 23rd, 2017.

Coupling these celestial events with biblical prophecies and historical occurrence involving the nation of Israel, the odds are highly favored that the Great Tribulation, or Jacob’s Trouble, may begin this fall. Other celestial phenomenon may be visible in the heavens during this time too. It is a great time to be alive if we are armed with the Truth. We are children of the day and are not to be asleep.

Look up! Your redemption draws nigh. Even so. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

Notes

1.       Conjunctions are defined as celestial objects aligning toward the celestial north. Currently, astronomers set degree limitations of how close they need to be for it to be considered a conjunction. However, to the ancient magi who measured with their eyes and not a telescope, a conjunction was considered a celestial alignment of at least two spheres that were contained within the same constellation, aligned toward the celestial north.

2.      “Lawgiver,” chaqaq (Hebrew), is used 18 times in the Scriptures.

Christological Astronomy Facilitators Compensation

I have an exciting announcement to make concerning Christological Astronomy. This has been a long time coming, but we are finally in a position to help liberate the ministries of those who are serious students of this subject. We are initiating a trial remuneration program for our certified facilitators who are introducing CA profiles to people from our website at http://astronomy.lmci.org. We believe that the generous remuneration from this apostolic program could potentially finance ministries in many places globally.

Several years ago, the Lord spoke this word to me: “If you can figure out how to maintain integrity within the Christological profile interpretations and pay the facilitators, this will burst into flames.” We are ready to do this now and I am excited to see this word being fulfilled.

As we have prepared the website and trained facilitators, both in the US and abroad, we have been steadily working toward this remuneration program. We are especially excited to see what it will avail in India where people are addicted to the lies of astrologers and also in Brazil where people have not been poisoned against celestial truth. If we can manage this well, it could possibly help to lead millions to the Lord. Until now, I have been hesitant to release this in India because we needed a plan in place to help disciple those who are won to the Lord. I believe we now have that.

About 30 individuals have completed the basic Christological Astronomy discipleship training study on our website at http://www.lmci.org/LMDPcurriculum.pdf. Several will be selected to initiate this trial remuneration program, with the hope and faith that this will eventually yield many more “destiny coaches” who will desire the same training and certification.

This new paradigm of ministry has the potential of opening up opportunities for those who desire to help others realize their God-given destinies. Christological Astronomy is the most prophetically rich environment I know of; if we can strip the shackles of prejudice off, the truth will brilliantly shine. A prophetic word was spoken over me that CA would first be rejected in the US, but that other countries who receive it would make the US jealous. Watch what happens. We are poised for a revolution. We are going on a fishing expedition (for people) in heretofore unexplored territory where the devil has posted the stream. Christological Astronomy is the right bait for this stream, perfect for New-Agers, Hindus, and Muslims—and even some lukewarm Christians.

I am excited about training our facilitators and helping them realize the huge blessing it will be to do this. This training will include new webcasts and other special items, so don’t forget to go to our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClX29EzP-87tNyD9a3XUgnA to see what we have already posted and to keep checking it for new posts. You will find everything there you need to know to enter into this exciting new ministry.

We are looking for seasoned, prophetically-gifted individuals who desire to be destiny coaches. If this is you, please contact us at www.lmci.org  and we will give you the specifics.

THE RETROGRADES OF MARS AND JUPITER IN THE WOMB OF VIRGO

We are living in an exciting time of potential fulfillment of biblical prophecy! A correspondence in time plus an array of heavenly happenings are converging to point to the second coming of Messiah. Retrogrades of Mars and Jupiter in the womb of Virgo exactly 1260 days apart scream of prophetic fulfillment. Who is watching?

There are exactly 1260 days between the first of the 2014/2015 tetrad eclipses (April 14, 2014) and the coming celestial event of September 23, 2017, the possible fulfillment of Revelation 12:1 and 2. Some “stellar fellows” have suggested that this period may correspond with the first three-and-a-half years of the Great Tribulation. Although that doesn’t appear to be the case, it still can’t help but arrest our attention that the length of time is the same. Besides this happenstance, there appears to be celestial evidence of Messiah’s coming in both the Mars retrograde of April 2014 (during the first lunar eclipse) and the Jupiter retrograde that is presently occurring (from May–September 2017). The one that is happening right now is encircling Virgo’s womb area, just as the one in April 2014 did. This prophetically speaks of a birth, or coming, of Messiah as the Warrior and as the King.

A retrograde is actually an optical illusion that occurs when you look at the background of an object moving in the same direction as you overtake it at a faster speed. Looking at the background behind the object being passed by makes it appears the item is moving backwards for a short time but then begins to move forward again (according to the background). As we watch a planet doing this, over time, it appears to be slowly drawing a circle in the sky. This is called a retrograde.

What the planet encircles, as well as the timing of it, signifies the importance of the event and the message. Reading retrogrades is a great (and little known) key to interpreting the heavens.

The astounding fact that I am reporting is that both the Mars and the Jupiter retrogrades occurred in the identical place in the heavens—encircling the womb of Virgo. The following two screen shots from Stellarium document this.

Mars Retrograde: February – July 2014

Jupiter Retrograde: May – September 2017

What is This Saying?

It’s rare that two planets would retrograde in the same location at any time, much less at such a pivotal time in history and within the prophetic time of 1260 days. This is truly a wonder and sign in the heavens that could quite possibly indicate that the Messiah is coming soon and that the kingdom of heaven is about to be birthed on Earth. Both planets in these retrogrades are Christological representations of Jesus—Mars represents Him as the warrior who defeats Satan; and Jupiter is the King planet that declares the coming of the King. We are way past “coincidence” in the celestial anomalies that are continuing to occur—I believe we are fully into the announcement of Messiah’s second coming.

Mars the Warrior

Mars’ Hebrew name is Madim, which means “the red one.” Christologically, this represents the color of blood and, hence, warfare. Christ the Warrior will certainly be seen in His second coming as Lord of hosts and head of God’s army (Revelation 19:11–15). The Mars retrograde testified in living color at the 2014 spring feast of Passover during the blood moon eclipse that the warrior was on His way. I remember seeing it vividly, especially as the moon grew darker. In plain sight, Madim was saying, “the warrior is coming soon and He will throw down Satan and bring peace and order to the world.”

Stargazers and sky watchers have been dazzled by the tetrad eclipses of the last few years, and I’m sure the total solar eclipse this August will dazzle us as well—but who takes notice of where in the heavens they happen? During the first lunar eclipse of the four tetrads when the moon darkened and turned to blood, Mars was encircling the star Spica in a position relative to Virgo’s womb. This said, “I am coming again to fight for my people and to throw down Satan.” (This is prophesied in Revelation 12 where there is war in heaven.)

Make no mistake—when the Lord returns, He will not be looking to negotiate. And every knee will bow.

Jupiter the King

Jupiter’s Hebrew name is Tsedeq and it means “the King of righteousness.” The largest of all the planets in our solar system, Jupiter is named after the head god of the Roman pantheon where he is referenced as “King of the gods.” (He is the equivalent of Zeus, the “King of the gods” in Greek mythology.) The planet Jupitier, or Tsedeq, is the likely candidate for the star (“His star”) that the wise men followed to the location of the young child Yeshua in Nazareth.

Note: Since we haven’t crucified any sacred cows lately, we may as well throw one in here: Jesus was in Nazareth when the wise men found Him. What the magi referred to as “His star” has been erroneously referenced as “the star of Bethlehem” for ages, although Jesus was actually in Nazareth when the wise men came. Luke 2:39 says that Mary, Joseph, and Jesus went back to Nazareth immediately after they fulfilled the law at the birth. The wise men followed Jupiter to Nazareth over a year later. The more appropriate name would be the Star of Nazareth.

Jupiter was retrograding around the star Regulus at the first birth of Messiah, and it is presently retrograding around Spica in the womb of Virgo announcing the King is coming again.

Conclusion

Even though it doesn’t appear as if we are living in the first three-and-a-half years of the Great Tribulation, it still seems more than coincidental that it is exactly 1260 days between the Mars retrograde of April 2014 and the celestial event due to occur on September 23, 2017. On that date, Jupiter will be retrograding in the same place, which appears to be a fulfillment of Revelation 12:1 and 2. The timing of these two similar retrogrades by two planets that represent Jesus certainly seems to be announcing the coming of Yeshua the Warrior and Yeshua the King. (Could this possibly mean He will actually set foot on Mt. Olivet in the next 1260-day period?)

I have been watching the heavens faithfully for over 20 years and believe that all the signs are pointing to the second coming of the Messiah. All these signs have concurred on two strong messages—Satan will be cast down and the King will come! That is exactly the message of these two retrogrades in the womb of Virgo, occurring exactly 1260 days apart.

Christ the Warrior is coming and Christ the King is coming.

Trim your lamps and get ready. The Spirit and the bride say come. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.

THE CELESTIAL PHENOMENON AT THE CRUCIFIXION OF JESUS OF NAZARETH

Too many “coincidences” surround the “Mystery Man” from Nazareth for Him to not be the promised Messiah. His story is written in the heavens, and the secret code to revealing its prophecies and images is to view them Christologically—to see that they are showing the timeline of Messiah’s coming, His sacrifice, His resurrection, and His return to establish the Kingdom of God. The record of
His star in Matthew 2, along with other Old Testament prophecies that were fulfilled at that time, should be enough to validate this claim. Additionally, the book of Revelation reveals heavenly signs that point to His second coming, the coming of the Son of Man.

Although there are theologians and scholars who have acknowledged these truths, the celestial phenomenon that remains basically unnoticed and overlooked is the one that occurred at the time of His death upon the cross.

As we look at this celestial occurrence during the crucifixion, we will see that it should be incredibly interesting to those who study God’s celestial Word because it is an astronomical phenomenon that defies normal scientific explanation. On Passover at the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth, a three-hour solar eclipse occurred over all the face of the earth. That should have been enough to testify to the world that the Messiah had been killed.

The celestial phenomenon of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ was a three-hour solar eclipse.

There are some serious questions to consider upon a closer examination of this celestial event—a solar eclipse of the ages—a very significant event indeed.

First, solar eclipses happen only on new moons. Passover is always on a full moon (14th day of the first month, Leviticus 23:5).  On this day, which fell perhaps on the 28th of April ad 28, there was a full moon. This scenario defies description from modern-day astronomy because solar eclipses are caused by the moon passing between the Sun and Earth and casting a shadow on the earth. On this day, the moon was exactly on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun and could in NO way have eclipsed the Sun.

Second, solar eclipses are normally a maximum of 7½ minutes long. Three Bible records, along with other secular records, agree that this particular solar eclipse lasted for three hours, which is impossible according to modern-day astronomical laws and understanding. Regardless, the biblical record states that it remained dark upon the whole earth for three hours.

Third, a conventional solar eclipse only sweeps across a small swath of the Earth, moving in a west-to-east direction. These same three biblical accounts report that the eclipse covered all the face of the Earth.

Therefore, this is a phenomenon—something that is way outside of the ordinary. Isn’t it amazing that God Almighty had this date and event in His mind before the creation of the world when He plotted out the courses of the planets, the Sun, and the Moon. He knew who the Messiah would be and marked Him by celestial signs at His birth and at His crucifixion.

Another issue at stake here is that in many people’s belief systems the Bible is infallible. So, if there is no plausible explanation, then science will fault the Bible. In this case, we have three different gospel accounts verified by three different sources. I’ve heard Bible teachers rant about three days and three nights; well, here is another rant: a three-hour solar eclipse happening on a full moon. Hello Houston, now we really have a problem. Call out the astronomers, astrophysicists, NASA scientists, including Dr. Folkner, and Pat Gleason (the mathematician, cyber engineer, and astronomer who designed our computer program). This is not possible! We are looking for answers.

In the mouth of two or three witnesses, truth is established (2 Corinthians 13:1); and in this case, three separate people describe this phenomenon and its impact.

Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split. Now when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!” ~Matthew 27:45, 51, and 54

Now when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. Now when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!” ~Mark 15:33 and 38–39

And it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two. Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!” ~Luke 23:44–45 and 47

The sixth hour is 12 noon, and the ninth hour is 3 pm.  So, the eclipse started at noon and ended at 3 pm. Notice also that in each account, there is seismic activity and a Roman centurion confessing Jesus as Messiah. Jesus died at 3 pm, precisely when the eclipse ended. This was an amazing event.

What Caused the Eclipse?

So, what caused this eclipse if it wasn’t the Moon? We have seen that all three biblical accounts record that there were earthquakes so powerful that the veil of the temple, which was about three feet thick, was torn from top to bottom.

In ratiocination (the practice of deductive logic), if you rule out all the possible causes, then there must exist other seemingly impossible reasons to explain the phenomenon. There appears to be no “normal” answer in our contemporary wisdom and knowledge of astronomy. We can rule out the moon causing the eclipse, because it was on the other side of the Earth and could not have caused it. Also, the time lapse of the eclipse was way too long for it to be caused by the Moon. Additionally, all three biblical testimonies declare that it covered “all the land” (one even states, “all the earth”). This was no ordinary eclipse, and there is an indication from this description that the Earth was in the shadow of something that passed between it and the Sun.

The only explainable premise is that this shadow, or eclipse, had to be caused by an unidentified celestial object (UCO) that passed between the Sun and the Earth. The object would obviously be larger than the Earth since its shadow covered the whole Earth for three hours. Deductively, an object that large and that close to the Earth could certainly have caused a gravitational pull that was the impetus for the seismic activity.

Science does not provide an answer to this event, so either the Bible is wrong or we must look to the “impossible” solution—this was caused by a UCO. We could just explain it away by stating, “God put His hand over the Earth when this happened.” However, this is not Vacation Bible School—something caused it, just as something caused the parting of the Red Sea, the hail fire and brimstone of Sodom and Gomorrah, Joshua’s long day, and Hezekiah’s sundial moving backwards. Perhaps this was the personification of God’s hand over the Earth, but He caused it by natural phenomenon. Israel was almost immediately devastated and even now is struggling to recover the blow dealt them for killing His Son. There is a greater explanation to this than God putting His hand over the earth.

It is both—the UCO and the hand of God—sending a foreboding message, as the eclipse covered the whole earth, that His Son had been killed. In all likelihood, this UCO was a mysterious asteroid or planetoid system passing by.

This is of interest to us for three reasons.

First, this was the crucifixion of Yeshua of Nazareth, the Lord of Glory. God Almighty marked His death with a major celestial sign just as Messiah’s first birth was marked. These are indicators to help us accept the person who is the chosen Messiah and Redeemer of mankind. This should not be swept under the rug simply because we cannot explain it. It is another major sign marking the identity of the Messiah.

Second, I know that within the Great Tribulation and the second coming of Messiah many celestial phenomena will occur too, and I am looking for His coming. The Bible reveals celestial, cosmic phenomena like the sky receding and every mountain and island being moved out of its place (Revelation 6:14), something that resembles a great flaming mountain being thrown into the sea, a third of the sea becoming blood, a third of the sea creatures dying, and a third of the ships being destroyed (Revelation 8:8), and a great burning star falling from heaven into a third of the rivers, affecting the springs of water (Revelation 8:10). This three-hour solar eclipse plausibly occurred at the death of Yeshua, and perhaps a similar signal will show us his second coming.

Third, I would be remiss if I did not at least mention the existence of another planet or system in our solar system. I have taught this in my Christological astronomy class for almost eight years. I know that there is activity happening in our solar system that is not confined to the Sun and Moon and our nine planets. I learned it from the Bible in questing for the Christology of the planets. Secular sources refer to this celestial phenomenon as Niburu or Planet X. I am greatly interested in it perhaps fulfilling Revelation 12 in the coming fall feasts, as the heavens move through their cycles and circles. This could be the answer to the three-hour solar eclipse and the celestial events of the Great Tribulation.

Deductively, the crucifixion of Yeshua of Nazareth was marked by a celestial sphere eclipsing the whole Earth for three hours. In other words, something came between the Earth and the Sun. These kind of rare happenings offer some other explanation for certain incidents in the Bible that science can’t explain—like hail fire and brimstone at Sodom and Gomorrah, or the parting of the Red Sea, or the Sun and Moon standing still for Joshua, or Hezekiah’s sundial going backward. And there are more. This account in Amos will take your breath away because it sounds exactly like what happened on the day of the crucifixion.

“And it shall come to pass in that day,” says the Lord God, “That I will make the sun go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in broad daylight.” ~Amos 8:9

When I saw this verse recently, it stunned me because it typifies exactly what happened at the time of the crucifixion. Amos prophesied that the Sun would go dark at noon and the Earth would be darkened. Even in a total solar eclipse, which lasts at the most 7½ minutes, the Earth does not get fully darkened. Some believe that this prophecy was fulfilled at the earthquake that occurred during King Uzziah’s reign over Judah (Zechariah 14:5–6). If that were so, then there were two days when this occurred, making Yeshua’s crucifixion event a double fulfillment of this prophecy. I believe that Amos 8:9 is significant within the pattern of what long eclipses and earthquakes portend for Israel. It is not good news for them, but God brings judgment for the purpose of repentance and, ultimately, for reconciliation.

Sun and Moon Eclipsed Simultaneously

On the occasion of a three-hour solar eclipse, the Moon would not appear as having light, since it would not be able to reflect the Sun (regardless of its location). These incidents where neither the Sun nor the Moon have light are prophesied by Joel in 2:10, 31, and 3:15.

I was deeply interested in the tetrad eclipses of 2014 and 2015, and they were significant signs of the coming kingdom of Messiah on Earth, just as the signs in the fall of 2017 will be. Yet they did not fulfill the prophecies of Joel because the eclipses and darkenings of the Sun and Moon that Joel spoke of are simultaneous—just as what happened on the day of the crucifixion. So there was both a solar and a lunar eclipse on that day.

If the Sun goes dark, and covers all the face of the Earth for three hours, at night time on the other side of the earth, the Moon will be eclipsed and appear blood-red because of the shadow of Earth’s atmosphere. Look at what Joel says about this.

The earth quakes before them, the heavens tremble; the sun and moon grow dark, and the stars diminish their brightness. ~Joel 2:10

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. ~Joel 2:31

A solar and lunar eclipse happened simultaneously at the crucifixion. You would think that a three-hour solar eclipse would have been enough of a sign, but Yahweh made sure that the people on the other side of Earth would see it too through the eclipsing of the Moon. These simultaneous solar and lunar eclipse have happened before, and they will happen again.

I am deducing that the sign of the coming of the Son of Man (Luke 21:25–27) will be another simultaneous eclipse of the Sun and Moon. Furthermore, the prophecies of Revelation 12:1-4 indicate that this sign may occur in the fall of 2017.

What Did the Eclipse Say When He Was Crucified?

An eclipse was visible around the world, either solar or lunar—sending out a message for all to see. It was a sad day. The world had rejected and killed the Redeemer, the promised Messiah, and God’s Son. Earthquakes shook the ground and events of such a degree that the Roman centurion accepted Yeshua as the Son of God.

This is how the heavens would have appeared that day of Passover ad 28.

On Passover, in April of the supposed year of ad 28, the Sun was located firmly in the very heart of Taurus, the sacrificial bull. (This occurred before the precession of the equinox took place and moved the placement of the constellations. Within the last 2,000 years, the Sun has been positioned in Aries during April.) This was a strong message for those with eyes to see. From Jerusalem, the site of the crucifixion, the eclipse began at 12 noon and ended at 3 pm.

With the darkness from the solar eclipse, the heavens would have been visible. The whole show was in Taurus, the sacrificial bull who was being slain—simultaneously.

When an eclipse occurs, what is being covered up in the heavens is significant and should be noted. In this instance, not only was the Sun located in the constellation of Taurus, the sacrificial bull, it was also eclipsing the Pleiades cluster of stars, often call the Seven Sisters. These are huge Christological messages.

In Christological astronomy, the Pleiades means the accumulation or congregation of the saints.  It is commonly known as the Seven Sisters located in the shoulder of Taurus but symbolically means the place of the accumulated, departed, righteous dead. At the time that Yeshua was being crucified, the saints in Abraham’s bosom were about to get transported to paradise and this is what the eclipse was saying. The blood of the bull was shed for the forgiveness of sins of the priesthood (Exodus 29:10) and his sacrifice was being announced to the whole world by the eclipsing residing in the constellation of Taurus. And it was a sign of the redemption being paid to release all the souls in hell in Abraham’s bosom that were being taken out of hell, which is where Abraham’s bosom was, and being transported into paradise.

For years, I’ve wondered about the verses in Matthew 27 about many getting out of their graves. Now I know—it was the validation of the solar eclipse’s message to righteous Israel: they would be saved if they embraced the Messiah. The raising of the dead out of Abraham’s bosom was a great accomplishment for the Lord and one of the main reasons He came to Earth.

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. ~Matthew 27:52–53

As the Sun was also eclipsing the Pleiades, the message was being broadcast around the world that Jesus was going into hell to rescues His brethren. Ephesians 4:8–10 tells us what Jesus did.

Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.” (Now this, “He ascended” --  what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) ~Ephesians 4:8–10

So, the three-hour simultaneous solar/lunar eclipse signified Messiah’s death and also told the story of redemption. Jesus did not die only to save those of us who would come in the future—He also came to rescue those who were in Abraham’s bosom and take them to Paradise.

This is the beautiful, redemptive message of the three-hour solar eclipse.

Conclusion

This amazing truth has been in the Bible waiting to be discovered. The fact remains, according to biblical and historical dating of earthquakes and other geophysical happenings at that time, that there was a celestial phenomenon that caused the solar eclipse on the Passover of the crucifixion. Even though this blog has focused on the cause of that eclipse, the greater significance lies within the message that it communicated to the whole world.

God Almighty marked Jesus of Nazareth as the promised Messiah by signs in the heavens—in His birth and in His death; and He will do the same in His second coming. What an amazing truth to realize that God so publicly identified the Messiah within His celestial cathedral. Now that an additional sign of the solar eclipse has been added, we should all conclude that Yeshua of Nazareth is the Messiah and Savior of the world.  He is the light of the world and we are looking for His coming and the sign of the coming of the Son of Man.

Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. ~Luke 21:27–28
